Determining the sequence of amino acids in a peptide—peptide sequencing—is a foundational technique in drug discovery, food safety, and environmental monitoring. This project aims to enable confident identification of challenging classes of peptides for which current state-of-the-art methods fail or produce unreliable results. Today’s dominant technology for peptide identification is mass spectrometry (MS), which performs well when peptides match sequences in a reference database.
