Non-Technical Summary: Halide perovskites and perovskitoids are a broad family of materials that have many applications including photovoltaic solar cells, lighting, lasers, photodetectors, x-ray detectors, and catalysis. However, many of the applications use materials containing toxic metals, such as lead.
