PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT In the United States (US), it is recommended to not use cannabis during pregnancy or while breastfeeding (referred to as “perinatal cannabis use”) because use during pregnancy has been associated with negative parental-child outcomes. Also, tetrahydrocannabinol (the principal psychoactive component of cannabis) can be transferred through breastfeeding.
